This research grew from a year of interaction with the online archive of native and endemic plant species listed on the California Native Plants Societies website. The archive served as a guide, offering detailed locations across Southern California. 

Wanting to desperately draw lines between the past and the present, I worked with various materials and tools to question the change between these time periods. What once was a very different landscape for specific species is now a glitched representation through ballpoint pen, created through an imperfect drawing system, continuing the distortion of time and space.
